1. What this page covers
This page explains the cookies and similar technologies used on getBTC.space (the "Site"), what they do, and how you can control them.
2. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. The Site also uses browser localStorage for a few preferences (for example, remembering display settings); localStorage stays on your device and is not sent to the operator.
3. Cookies the Site uses
a. Strictly necessary. The hosting platform may set cookies required for security, load balancing, and basic operation. The Site cannot function without these, and they are not used for tracking.
b. Analytics. The Site uses [ANALYTICS PROVIDER, e.g., Google Analytics 4], which sets cookies to measure aggregate usage (pages visited, session duration, approximate location, device type). This data is used only to understand readership in the aggregate. [If IP anonymization is enabled, state it here.]
c. Affiliate and referral tracking. When you click an outbound product link (addresses beginning with getbtc.space/go/), the destination merchant or its affiliate network may set cookies to attribute any later signup or purchase to the Site. Typical attribution windows range from 24 hours to 180 days depending on the program; details are in the Affiliate Disclosure. The Site itself does not read these third-party cookies.
d. Newsletter. If the Site embeds a newsletter signup form, the newsletter provider ([PROVIDER, e.g., Beehiiv]) may set cookies to operate the form and prevent duplicate submissions.
e. Advertising (future). If the Site enables third-party advertising (e.g., Google AdSense), the ad provider may set cookies to serve and measure ads, including interest-based advertising. This section will be updated if and when advertising goes live.
The Site does not use cookies for on-site payments or user accounts, because it offers neither.
4. Managing cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings: block all cookies, block third-party cookies, or delete existing cookies. Blocking strictly-necessary cookies may break parts of the Site. For analytics specifically, you may also use opt-out tools provided by the analytics vendor (e.g., the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on).
5. Changes
This policy may be updated as the Site's practices change; the "Effective date" above will reflect revisions.
